We will provide you a pre-plant site visit to offer base recommendations on shelter, aspect, soil characteristics and security. We will provide you with a nutrient plan based on recent soil tests, and recommend the cultivation or direct plant plan guided by your Farm Environment plan.

We will provide you a spatial planting plan to optimise plant performance and incorporate complimentary species options to fully utilise your grow area on an annual basis, and minimise the need for weed control.

We will assist you fully in the planting process, sharing our knowledge, thus allowing you greater independance in future grows. We also have access to Te Ao Kakano grow technicians to compliment your own team in the planting process where required.

We will also network any opportunity between growers to utilise mechanical planting equipment where available.

We will provide training and education for plant maintainance during the grow period, particulaly around the crucial practice of  when, why and how much leaf to trim, to optimise yield and mitigate disease risk. We will also educate for the identification and remedial actions around disease and mould growth.

We will recommend and impliment the data logging sytem best applicable for the wet weight recording of all production stock required at harvest, to allow benchmarking based on different genetics and crop managements.

We will lead or assist in the harvesting process, using both combined knowledge and technology, to optimise your harvest potential, and can provide a team of harvest technicians if required.

We will encourage the use of shared resources within and between localities for the transport process involved in harvest, and develop a plan for your best pratice transportation to facility.

We also recognise the opportunity to share knowledge and equipment from the Viticulture world. Synergies exist both in the specific equipment available for land management, and some of the quality measurement technologies. We wish to evolve these connections for our Te Aa Kakano growers’ benefit.

Our lead advisor will be fully available to all Te Ao Kakano growers’ at a personal level, our technicions will be available whenever required, and our management team will strategise on any and all aspects of production that can increase your on farm efficiencies.
